What an exhausting day of online shopping, eh, browsing.

My gift list situation is looking strong this year, so instead, in honor of Cyber Monday I took time to build an over the top wishlist.

open Studio wednesdays

Join studio-mate Lizz and I as we host the first Popomomo, Curatorial and LA Vintage Exchange Open Studios at our shared workspace just north of downtown LA.

Peruse the lines, check out our studio, sip champagne and shop current and past season popomomo and curatorial pieces. Past seasons will be steeply discounted. And mostly, hang out with us to enjoy a lovely Wednesday.

Popomomo is a women's contemporary eco line known for its intellectually sexy pieces and handmade prints. Curatorial is a lower priced pet project that features vintage, liability and deadstock fabrics in season-right women's shapes.

LA Vintage Exchange is a tight collection of trend right vintage for stylist's and designer's resources, wholesale for boutiques, and for individual clients. Shop hand picked vintage pieces that have been gathered from all over the country.

cottage Style

Last week I received an invite from my aunt Lynn who was in the midst of transitioning from her recent art exhibition opening at Lora Schlesinger Gallery to having a crew from Cottage Style Magazine shoot her live-work cottage in Venice Beach. Featured in Cottage Living Magazine a few years ago, as an artist Lynn has found this is a way to bring her art work to a new viewer. I was to join as her "niece who lives in LA". The few hours I had dedicated towards the shoot turned into a day as I got absorbed with what was going on. One of my favorite shots took place in my cousin's room where my vintage dress was staged on a hanger over the door. Hopeful L.A. Vintage Exchange press to come!

green Thumb

Olive, Emerald & Jade are just a few green nail shades that have caught my attention. In need of a change, a new nail color in my rotation seems mild. With so many choices that reek moldy goth, it is crucial to pick the right shade. OPI's dark emerald polish Here Today Aragon Tomorrow gives off a classy & rich dark feel with a hint of green. And Chanel's nail color in Jade (featured in pic below) is so retro unique- a great accent color for photo shoots & when things warm up.

LA Fashion Week: Popomomo, Dillon

LA fashion week is here (yes, we still have a fashion week) and Wednesday evening's turn-out at LA Fashion on Broadway held at the historic Los Angeles Theatre downtown was encouraging.

The theme of the night was installations and I started with a preview of Maxine Dillon's Spring collection. The stationary models gave me enough time to pick some of my favorite pieces including the dip dye shirt dress and pleated pants. Her range of looks was ambitious, and Dillon kept it together with similar colors and fabrics.

Eco-line Popomomo was my main draw and did not disappoint. The installation was well displayed on the theatre's stage and we sat in a circle of chairs around two large abstract wood structures. The show started and it immediately became a fluid installation with multiple models on set and a smooth transition of looks. The S/S10 collection was presented for viewers as the models moved stylishly with the music, showing off the functionality of each piece while interacting with the set. So clearly thought out, this season's designs show an immense focus on zippers, buttons & ties while keeping the key drape and clever cut-outs Popomomo is known for. Designer Lizz Wasserman has definitely created a wearable season with numerous pieces I must have. Lucky for me, we share a studio space!
